This is the lifesize clay sculpture of an imaginary Horse's Head. This work emanates from a number of inspirations: the equine marble sculptures from Ancient Greece. the Horses of San Marco as well as the Assyrian reliefs in the British Museum. I have attempted to combine elements of the "antique" with a modern approach. I have named it after Helios, the Greek God of the sun, who drove his chariot of four horses across the heavens each day. It is currently undergoing casting in bronze.
